Principles of Animation in Max – part 2

From this tutorial we shall understand about time and space in our animation tutorial.

We have read about kinds of animation in our previous tutorial and here we shall only discuss about time and spacing for weight. The concept is quite easy but it needs only some attention. So get ready to learn this concept and follow the direction.

1. We have pre-made model in our scene which is holding weights in his hand. The character is picking up the weights and here we needs to apply time and space setting for our scene. There is difference in both weights and it is because the character is swinging from one side to another. When we apply simple animation in the scene, the character is looking rigid and unreal because of non-application time and space.

principle_of_animation_022. The character is picking up both weights easily at the same time although one weight is heavier than other. The key frame is showing the beats and rhythm and holding of weights at the same time. The time and space is really very significant that it means otherwise the animation will be collapsed. To adjust the scene setting along with time and space setting, first select the wrist of hand then select the shoulder and move the key frames further from previous position. Now play the animation and will see that lighter weight is being picked before the heavier one and in this way the project is showing real and natural geometry of scene.
