Modeling A Plant In 3ds Max Part 2

The 3d plants modeling is the technique to create the modeling in real time using proper tools. The plant is consisting on pedicel, stem and leave. We have done basic drawing for the plants in the Adobe Photo shop. These models are created by the reference image, if you have reference image in your drive that’s fine, otherwise you can download 3d model for reference from web browser.

You get these 3ds model free from there. Now we are using 3d max for basic modeling of plants. Open your 3ds max and go to basic primitive. Choose a line to make a drawing for the pedicel of plant. If one has wonderful drawing technique, then he will also create the pedicel drawing marvelous. Once you have created the pedicel, then choose plane from the primitives and draw it along with pedicel drawing. Do this work in top view port; change the length and width segments for plane. Right click on the plane and choose editable poly.

Select the branch of the plant and convert it to editable poly too. Go to edge mode and select all the edges of branch. Click on connect and give twenty segment to connect with each other. Then select the plane and click on attached. Now choose texture for the branch, click on material editor. Select the default texture here and click on diffuse then click on bitmap. Choose the texture that we made in adobe photo shop and click on assign material to selection. Go to modifier and select the Unwrap UVW.

Select the leave and then edit it by choosing edit option. You have created a leaf for branches, and similar do the same procedure with the other branches of the plants. Apply Gizmo effect to make its tendency toward lower side. This will create real affect in your scene. The rest of procedure can be seen in the next part of the series.
