Human Character Modeling in 3ds Max

In this tutorial we shall talk about character modeling.

The human character model is the entity which is created for animation. You have seen these character models in video game and 3d films. The shape and size don’t matter for character, it may smaller and larger. Usually this kind of characters is created for super natural film and game developing.

The character is generated with skeleton and cloth modifier. The skeleton needs joints which lie under animation main menu setting category. The joint creation and connection is called rigging and different characters have different rigging shape. So don’t worry about rigging shape but try to create perfect rigging model because your character model is based on your rigging set up. If we look into this tutorial, we come to know that character modeling is being created with stencil sketched image. In this way, you can create character modeling from four sides easily. The model is being created with reference image and you can download this image from any site. Create box to select the body and then select its faces to extrude it according to its demands.

The box is selected only for character modeling because it covers the character modeling geometry in quadratic shape. You can hide, show and use it for scaling, extrude and bevel it for the best of character modeling. Some people start from emphasizing shapes but it creates much problem at next stage for artist and also effect your artistic flow.
