Butterfly – Skinning the Mesh Part 2

As you know that we are working for butterfly modeling in 3d studio max.

This process is being done in parts and this is second part whole process. In this part we shall apply skinning for butterfly modeling. We are using 3d studio max for this process. Active your top viewport and select the mesh.

After this go to modifier list and choose proper modifier for this. To view applying modifier, press Alt+W to maximize that viewport. This is short key to zoom your viewport. Now it is time to adjust left or right bone side of butterfly. We can adjust them by controlling its vertices setting. The vertices are assigned at three different places, one for front, one for middle and last for back. These vertices manipulation can be adjusted with multiple setting. Now deselect the image for a while and select the bone. Using select and rotate tools rotate it at specific angle.

Now go back again and assign skin modifier. You can see now the affect of rotation in this model. Now select the master root or butterfly root and move it. You will see that everything will move along this model set up. For more info, watch this useful video to learn more about butterfly modeling.
