Butterfly – Creating Mesh, Texture and Bone Hierarch Part 1

Start new series of butterfly modeling learning tutorials.

In this tutorial of 3d studio max, we are going to start new series of butterfly modeling learning tutorials. Although it is first part therefore we shall only discuss about basic concept of butterfly modeling.

In this part you will learn about how to create Mesh, texture and bone hierarchy. The butterfly is being created with simple plane and few bone aspect. Before starting our project, we configure the viewport according to our model. Go to create panel and choose dummy from standard primitives.

After selecting dummy, create it on the grid. The size doesn’t matter in this case and you can maximize or minimize its size. The size can be managed using object manipulation tools. It allows you to modify the shape of model with all the three attributes. In 3d s max, you can create similar items using clone option. Don’t forget to change the object’s name at any step. After few steps, you will create plane in this dummy. The rest of procedure is nearly alike to sketched image modeling. Go to drives and choose reference image there. Go material editor and assign material to selected object. Now the butterfly image will assign to the selected plane. There are several steps in this continuous modeling of butterfly. So watch this video tutorial and follow the direction to learn butterfly modeling in 3d s max at home.
