Balloon Material in 3ds Max

In this tutorial we shall discuss about balloon material and how to render it in mantel ray.

We can modify the render setting in render set up. Go to render option and click on that otherwise you can find it by pressing F10 from your keyboard. The render will offer you to choose render button.

The dialog box have two option, we choose mental ray from there. Now hit “M” from key board to bring material editor. Choose any empty slot for material demonstration. Here we choose standard button, the opening map browser has a variety of option for map. Now select the selected slot and then select the balloon. Click on assign material to selection and the selected material properties will apply on the balloon. Click on Template in material editor and choose the Translucent Plastic Film. The next step is to choose the color of its parameter. Click on color and choose the color combination from color selector. Now we have adjusted refraction value and place the default values. Our simple balloon model is ready yet its background is left to set. So we go to render and choose Environment.

It will help us to change the background. Click on color button and choose the color from color chooser and also select the background color as white. Now go to render option and render the object. It is now in rough look yet, to make it shine we take a box from creating panel and modifies its parameter from modifier panel. Now make 4 copy of the box by press hold Shift key and with move tool. Select all of them to grouped them. Now apply Omni light on the object. Select the whole window and with rotate tool and Angle snap toggle move the object at 45 degree. Render the image and you will find that balloon perfect. Rendering may take a lot of time due to transparency.
