DVD Covers in 3Ds Max Part 1

This Tutorial is about 3d s max, the basic software application for 3d modeling.

This tutorial is about modeling of DVD covers in 3ds max. The interesting thing is to add some images on the front of DVD. Here we need some basic thing for DVD covers like Images for front, CD name and Cover.

We shall create them in 3ds max. Now we start in 3ds max. Open the 3ds max, go to standard primitives and select the chamfer box. Now drag it on the grid to Y-axis. Maximize the prospective view port and change the width of chamfer box.

Adjust the segments for chamfer box; it is time to assign material to the chamfer box. Press “M” to bring material box and choose material related to DVD covers. Choose any empty slot and set the glossiness for it.

Now again select another empty slot to assign image material for DVD. First of all rename the empty slot with specific name. Next to diffuse color selection and choose color from color selector. Now select the empty slot for the back side of DVD. Repeat same process for third time. For DVD name assigning, you will have to select another empty slot with same process.

The basic setting for DVD covers is done and now it is time to texture the model. Choose empty slot for texturing purpose.

Now assign the entire materials to the selected DVD covers one by one. You can also watch this video if you have still problem to learn the concept.
