Create Wooden Crate In 3ds Max Part 2

In this second part of wooden crate we shall create this modeling properly in 3d studio max. We are using polygonal objects for this purpose. The 3d object has some basic information about object geometry. It has vertices, edges and faces which help us to read about that object in detail. The vertices are actually linked alignment of the object and it is the caused of edge. The edge is being created with vertices.

You can say that vertices play vital role in the modeling of any object. Edges are defined as the corners of the model and face is the central part of the object. These polygonal object groups are the sources for creating any 3d model. We have reference image of wooden crate in our drive to compare it with our model crate.

Parameters

Go to create panel and choose box there. Adjust the parameters of the objects to form it required shape. Press “M” and bring material editor to assign material to your model. Don’t forget to change object name as wooden crate. Right click on the object and convert it into editable poly. Just hold the control key and select each polygon of the object.

Insert more polygons inside this box from all sides. Bring them in mesh smooth modifier and it will be like a real crate. The top setting is still left to adjust, select the top view and insert polygon. Choose connect tool and then connect the edges of the crate. The connect option will be appeared into mini dialog box, and then place 2 values for creating segment of the object. Create base for crate model and make duplicate copy at three different places. The 3d model of wooden crate has been created. In next part we shall assign texture for wooden crate.
