This part refers to display option, viewport configuration and object properties. The display option is linked with viewport setting. Sometime you want to view the scene model in larger screen, in this case you can work fluently in your projects. There are two kinds of viewport setting, prospective viewport and orthographic viewport. The prospective viewport is simple default viewport setting of 3d s max. But you can split this viewport into 4 viewports by pressing space bar. This four viewports are collectively called orthographic viewport.You can convert these viewport setting by using relevant icon at the lower right side of the grid.

You can use shortcut keys for this purpose by pressing Alt+W. When we are required to maximize any one viewport from orthographic viewport then we select it and press Alt+W. Only prospective viewport shows the primitives into shaded mode otherwise orthographic viewport shows the objects in wireframe mode. If you objects are in wire frame mode then you can shade it by simply pressing F3.If you want to see edge smooth setting then F4. When you want to configure the viewport, then go to any viewport just right click on it and in opening window in the bottom side choose configure where it offers you to configure the viewport according to your need.
