WordPress Default Post Types

WordPress has become a very popular Content Management System around the globe.  Why it should not be, WordPress has everything that any person can work in it.  WordPress is not just famous for blogging and portfolio sites. you can build and manage a pretty good online store in WordPress also. Enough with WordPress intro I am wanted to shed some light on WordPress post types.

What is Post Type?

Inside WordPress dashboard we see ‘Post’, ‘Pages’, section and that are two very common and popular post type in WordPress. We know we use post as a blogging concept and pages are just pages you create on the site.

There are other post type too like ‘Menu’ and attachment.

So long story short post type means a support where you can add your own content or ability to post your own thing in different type.  You could say different content type.

These are Default WordPress Post Type:

  • Post
  • Page
  • Attachment
  • Menu
  • And revision

These are default WordPress post type that comes with default installation.
