Affect the artwork or text to the silk-screen. This can be used by making a “film positive” (the opposite of a standard negative) or drawing your design directly onto the silk-screen itself.

Position your shirt inside of the silk-screen frame until it is stretched very tightly on every four sides. The front is called the “well” and this is where the ink goes.

The Process

Pour the ink into the well after your shirt is secured.

Use a sponge, squeegee or other tool to press the ink through the polyester (or silk at additional authentic, old-fashioned operations) plus onto the T-shirt. Lay your shirt on a table or specially designated flat surface and set the back side of the silk screen against the shirt when pulling the ink down.

Allow your shirt time to air dry, and your last result will be a creation you’ll be proud of.
