Introduction of Graphite Modeling Tools

3ds max has vast collection of tools and commands to work with 3d object. The graphite modeling tools are also one of the prominent tools of 3ds max. These tools are using especially for the game development and character modeling. In this tutorial you will see how effectively it works with workflow.

The concept of graphite modeling tool can not be understood in single tutorial, therefore you would have seen the rest of procedure in the next tutorial. The graphite modeling tools works instead of simple traditional method. In this tutorial we shall look briefly upon the graphite modeling and how to generate topology. Open the 3ds max 2010; we have graphite modeling tools with polygon modeling.

Standard Modeling

We shall create standard modeling using all these tools together. So go to basic primitive and create sphere from the panel in prospective view. Maximize the view to work easily. Now convert the object into hidden line. To work the object with generate topology; first bring the object into editable poly. Then select the generate topology and it will be opened in to mini dialog box. Before assign topology elements, the edges of object should be selected.

Go to the polygon modeling option and choose edge. This will make the vertices like a bricks. When we render the image there is nothing in the sphere. It is absolutely smooth and fine shape. The bricks are not appearing at this time, do some more modification and then render again and you will see the same result as in this video.
