3ds Max NURBS Curves and Surfaces

NURBS and Polygons are two main features of 3D modeling and animation.

NURBS curves are defined as computerized graphics application to create curves and surface for flexible and freehand modeling. NURBS and Polygons are two main features of 3D modeling and animation.

There is much difference in polygons and NURBs modeling because of their components. Their components level describe about details of the objects. The NURBS are now known as surfaces and in latest versions of 3D studio max, there is proper main menu set of surface which includes different setting under this main menus. At earlier, you have to draw CV curve at first step of modeling, these curves help us to move, rotate and revolve it for the modeling of objects. If you have created one side of the object geometry then you can create other one by using mirror option. Although it belongs to graphics and computer designing, therefore it was first used in AutoCAD.

AutoCAD is wonderful software for designing and mapping of building. It has made the architect easier to design the map in computerized form instead of hand made map. The curve is firstly created then surfaces commands revolve it to make mathematical shape of model. The NURBS surface describes two type of surface which is known as point surface and control vertices. The points surface is assumed as editable point whereas the control vertices allow us to control setting of vertices in NURBS modeling. For more detail, watch this useful video tutorial.
