Video-Modeling NURBS Robot Legs 2

Welcome to free 3d software learning of Autodesk Maya!
This is second part of the NURBS 3d modeling lesson about robot 3d model in which you learn 3d modeling technique of how to model a robot with NURBS 3d modeling technique in 3d modeling animation and rendering software Autodesk Maya. This is complete 3d modeling series for 3d modeling of robot using NURBS 3d modeling tool and commands in 3d animation modeling software Autodesk Maya. NURBS 3d modeling is smooth way of 3d modeling in NURBS 3d modeling you are bound to polygonal faces for 3d modeling rather than you get freedom modeling your 3d models in NURBS you can model with curves, straight lines, and simple NURBS primitives and so on. For smooth 3d models NURBS 3d modeling is the best way of 3d modeling. Here you will learn to model the leg part of the 3d model in 3d animation modeling software Autodesk Maya with NURBS 3d modeling tools.

    Steps:

  1. Go to the create menu and go to option box of the Cylinder in NURBS and mark the both in caps options, then create. Rotate it on z-axis at 90 and then press ‘r’ for scale tool and scale it down for robotic knee. Then in the same way create another cylinder for thigh area. Scale it to appropriate size.
  2. Now you right click on object and select control vertex mode and then press ‘w’ for move tool now make the middle vertices of the cylinder a little bit round.
  3. Then create NURBS sphere for thigh joint and for hip joint create curve using ‘Create EP curve tool’ from Create menu. Then go to Surfaces menu and click on the Revolve tool scale this new object and adjust on thigh joint.
