Character Modeling in Maya Part 1

Character Modeling in Maya Part 1From this tutorial you are learning about character modeling setup in Maya. The characters are main elements in animation process. When you want to create animation, you are definitely in need of 3d characters. These characters are created in Maya with 3d modeling techniques. For character modeling, first of all we make a basic framework of joints to draw a basic idea of character. It is not necessary that character should be of same size or similar shape. There is always difference among them. Once you have created the models skeleton, then it is assigned skin modifier which is already plug-in in Maya. Here in this tutorial, the concept is learnt with sketched image. Then this image is opened in Maya, when you split the viewport in orthographic mode, you can also view the character model directional image describing all the four parts. This way you can work for each side individually with more accuracy. Now move one side of the character sketched image ahead for the ease of your model. Separate the reference sketched image into two parts i.e. front view and side view. Now we can work on them separately in orthographic view. In this part we are just required to teach you; in next part further information will be delivered to you guys. Currently, watch this video tutorial about character modeling in Maya.
