Maya 2012 Tutorial – Transparency and Refractions

In this video tutorial you will learn about transparency and refraction. The refraction is a term which belongs to lighting application. The refraction is just like a curve having transparent material. The refraction is produced by clear crystal and transparent material for example, crystal glass full of water demonstrated the refraction and the assigned liquid expresses the water because of applied material setting. In attribute editor, here you can see the material shape after every assigning material.

First of all don’t forget to rename the model because it is bit necessary for any modeling process. In the bottom side, there are plenty of options having different tasks. The character model or simple model can be modified after changing attribute value and ratio here in this section.

The color, lighting, shading and other requirements of the model are managed here quite easily. Use transparency level as white because only in this way you can represent the refraction and transparency concept.

That’s why the model is secular high-lighted. The refraction options are located in the below section of attribute editor where it deals with refraction setting of given model. Few changes here in this section will create busy result in model rendering image. Further setting will be made from hypershade which is also described in given video tutorial.
