Importance Of Pollination In Agriculture 16.2-2

Most of the plants used in agriculture are the flowering plants. Pollination leads to fertilization, forming seeds and fruits, which are used as food by us tand other animals.

If the process of pollination is damaged by the use of insecticides or pesticides through killing of insects, the fruit formation in orchards and seed formation in crops is severely affected leading to a gross financial loss to the growers on one hand and shortage of food on the other hand. Therefore, insecticides and pesticides should be used with great care.
