Video-Modeling Nut Bolt with Polygons 1

Autodesk Maya is the best 3d modeling and 3d animation software application very popular for 3 d modeling and animation with a lot of ease in any type of operating systems. It world wide used for 3 d modeling and animation for designing games, computer aided 3 d designs and animation preparation for architectural engineering and biology and almost all other field of sciences for visualization, 3 d animation films, and cartoons and it covers vast ground of 3d world modeling and animation. In this free tutorial video we are going to learn how to create a 3 d model of a nut in this 3 d modeling and animation software Maya this model is a type of engineering architectural design created in computer graphical software application Maya you can learn here complete 3d modeling, texturing, shading, coloring and rendering and finally animation in Maya but here is 3 d modeling of nut.

    Steps:

  1. Create a polygonal cylinder from the ‘Create’ menu, ‘Polygon primitives.’
  2. Hit Key five from your key board to open shaded mode.
  3. 3d-nut-bolt
  4. In the channel box-p-cylinder shape inputs change some of its value like subdivision height, subdivision axis and subdivision caps. Here only mention able value is subdivision caps that is ‘3’ and subdivision axis ‘18’.
  5. Now right click on the object and select the ‘edge’ option.
  6. Now select the one of the edge and then leaving two edges select fourth edge and select then seventh and so on.
  7. Press ‘space bar’ and choose ‘top view.’ In top view you scale the selected edges inwards and make them smooth in the side view.
  8. Go to ‘Select’ menu and choose ‘select edge loop’ then come back to your model select the top and bottom edges of the already selected edges of the model.
  9. Now go ‘Edit mesh’ and select the ‘Bevel’ tool click on the checker box in front of Bevel tool. Reset the setting of the bevel tool and add Bevel width as 2 and click on Bevel option. Your model now got the shape like nut has at the outer edges.
  10. Go to ‘edit mesh’ and select ‘edit edge loop’ the edge loop around the six sided Beveled shaped end from inner side. Click on the select tool at the top of the side tool bar and then right click on object select the vertex, and click on the vertex of this hexagonal edge loop.
  11. Scale it round and do the same for bottom side of object.
  12. Then select the inward edge loop and now you have two round edge loops select, using scale tool scale them a little height and then again using Bevel tool set bevel width and bevel it.
  13. Create another cylinder and scale it down and for more details watch this free tutorial video move to the next part of this 3d modeling of engineering architectural designing class of computer graphic in Maya.
