Video-Maya-Modeling a Wash Basin with Subdivisions

Welcome to Maya Subdivisions 3d modeling learning video! In this free tutorial video you will learn how to model a wash basin in Maya using method of Subdivisions 3d modeling. Learn how a simple Subdivisions cube is modeled to wash basin using tool and commands of the Subdivision 3d modeling it is modeled into a wash basin. This is tutorial you will come to know about some new tools and commands of the Maya for 3d modeling. This lesson is about the basic of Subdivisions 3d modeling in Maya for the beginners of the 3d modeling and 3d animation in Maya computer graphics software application and you can learn complete modeling and animation in Maya on this website. We have the best 3d learning video and text for the learners of the computer graphics designers. Well! Here we shall move on to our Subdivisions 3d modeling of a wash basin in 3d modeling and animation software application Maya.

    Steps:
    Subdivision 3d modeling;
  • First of all in the modeling menu set create a cube from the Subdivision primitives in the create menu and hit key ‘5’ for shaded mode and then key ‘3’ for smooth surface of your cube.
  • Right click on the object and select the polygon mode and then, select the front faces and scale them out on y-axis, then you select the bottom two faces of these scales faces and then using move tool move them downwards (press ‘w’ key for move tool). After wards select the upper faces of this area and first scale them inwards from x and y axes and then click on the Extrude tool in the Edit Mesh menu and then extrude this faces downwards on –z-axis. This will create a nice basic model of your model.
  • Select the upper faces of the hind side of the cube and extrude them up and then select the bottom faces and then using scale tool scale them inwards so that you get small faces for extrusion for modeling the supporting back of the basin.
  • Go to top view and open wire frame mode and create polygon cylinder and using move tool place it at the tap position and then you can create a design of base for the tap if you want and then create another cylinder in the same way and place it on the base and then model a tap using extrude tool.
  • When you have extruded the cylinder up to the required height of the tap then using rotate tool rotate it to the 90 degrees and then for modeling the opening of the tap create NURBS cone. When you are modeling in Subdivision 3d modeling then for joining to or more character you select one and then shift select the other and click Bevel tool in the Edit mesh menu.

    1. Texturing and Rendering;

  • Right click on the object after complete 3d modeling and select assign new material and choose Blinn option a color attribute will pop up, click on the checker box in front of color option and then you select file in the texture options then click on folder icon in front of color which has appeared now and open a target file of any color texture you have in your download collection. Hit five to see you texture and then on rendering icon to view this in render view.
