This is 3d modeling and rendering lesson for beginners of the 3d modeling and animation software Maya and here in this 3d modeling and rendering lesson you will learn basics of how to texture a model and how to create lights’ effect for our 3d table lamp room model in 3d animation and modeling software Maya. 3d software for 3d modeling, animation and rendering Autodesk Maya has great features for realistic modeling and animation here you will learn how to use Blinn texturing, how to create directional and spot light effects in 3d modeling and animation software Maya.

    Steps:

  1. Download nice texture of furniture and walls from internet.
  2. Here we have a 3d room model with a lamp over the table, and you are going to make a light effect and camera view for rendering you scene but first thing is how to apply texture. But make sure that we have poly-mesh model.
  3. Select the walls, right click on the walls go to assign favorite material and choose Blinn for the wall. Blinn is texture which produces the effect of reflective surface like varnish, or paint etc. it is named after its designer Jam Blinn.
  4. In the attribute editor click on the color option box and choose file rendering node.
  5. Go again to attribute editor and click on the folder icon which now appears on color option and then browse for tile texture which you should have already downloaded form internet. Then hit ‘6’ to see the results. Repeat this for all part of you model if you do not have or want to color normally then just click on default color in attribute editor and choose any color you like.
  6. Now create a camera from create menu in rendering menu set, then move this camera to the place of from where you want to through light in rendering view.
  7. Then click on directional light in the main menus Create > Lights > Directional light. Move its one end to the camera and other to focus point on table.
  8. Again go to Lights and now create spot light for lamp.
  9. Now move this light to the lamp bulb area using all references of four view ports. Then in the channel box selecting this spot light you turn on depth map shadow and then fog setting and angle setting for conical area of the spot light and intensity as well.
  10. In the last apply render to see the results.
