Video-Keyframe and Graph Editor (5)

Welcome to 3d animation lesson on how to make your 3d animation improved with Graph editor in 3d modeling animation software Maya. In the last part of the 3d animation you learned how to increase the speed of 3d animation in Maya using graph editor but doing so 3d animation along x-axis got disturbed and our object also need more height along y-axis which is indicated by the green curve or line in the graph editor so that it does not looks likes passing through the net of the tennis court. For this purpose Graph editor is very easy to use for solving this problem of the 3d animation. This work can be performed by you very easily when you will be well aware with the fluent use of the 3d modeling tools and commands for this purpose make good practice of 3d modeling and animation and watch 3d animated videos made by the professional and experts of the 3d modeling and animation in Autodesk Maya.

    Steps:

  1. Open the Graph editor again and in the attribute panel shift select translate x and translate y both. In the graph editor only these will appear now delete the key points indicated by dots on translate-x curve in-between initial and final points of the curve.
  2. Then click on move tool and using the tangent handle move initial point to make a little curve and do same with the final point selected.
  3. Play your animation back to see the result of ball 3d animation’s front motion.
  4. Then select the green curve in the graph editor which indicates the translate-y i.e. jumping of the ball is related to this attribute. You just have to do is that click on the move tool, now you have to do is select the points which are among the initial point, bounce point and final point and delete these two points. Then selecting the bouncing point and using move tool, move the left side of the tangent handle somewhat higher so that ball jump over the net.
  5. Play you 3d ball animation this time.
