Video-Creating Constrain Lights

In this 3d modeling and animation series lesson now you will learn how to create lights for our 3d rocket model in 3d modeling and animation software Autodesk Maya. Why we need light for our model in 3d modeling and animation work where as our object is visible in default lights. To get answer of this question you just simply press ‘7’ key from keyboard when you scene is ready and you will get you answer. Appearing nothing means there is no light, so for making animation like real world you have to create lights for you 3d model. Here we have a rocket model which has to fly in space and dark area how you can see the flying rocket in dark unless you have assigned lights to it. Here you will learn how to assign lights to 3d model depending upon requirements of 3d modeling and animation related to real world effects in 3d modeling and animation software Maya.

    Steps:

  1. Just go to create menu and in Light menu create ambient light, this uniform light and make all the things visible uniformly.
  2. Then go to create menu again and in Light options select Spot light it is like torch light or table lamp light.
  3. Once you have created spot light just select this light in the Outliner easily; go to Window menu to open Outliner.
  4. Press ‘T’ on keyboard for getting control of light on workspace, now a box will appear with spot light clicking on that you will get option to adjust light intensity directly, direction and target easily.
  5. Then you will find two parts of this spot light one is for source and other is for target, adjust source part so that it throws light on front body of the rocket 3d model and adjust target as rocket using light constrains.
  6. You also create another spot light for opposite side of this spot light for better realistic results as rocket is really launched.
