This is 3d animation video tutorial joint modeling lesson in this 3d animation lesson you be learning about how to make leg joints of the 3d robot model in 3d modeling and animation software Autodesk Maya. Joints are very important part of the organic 3d modeling and 3d animation in any 3d computer graphics software application.
Here on this website you will learn about the 3d modeling, 3d animation and rendering in the 3d modeling and animation software Autodesk Maya in great details with complete comprehension. In this 3d modeling and animation lesson you will learn how to model the joints of legs in realistic way, how to adjust the position of the joints, how to resize the joints and how to hide some object in 3d modeling animation software Autodesk Maya. This leg joint hierarchy will be separate hierarchy but at once its modeling its complete then it will be joined with the pelvis joint otherwise only legs’ joints will be started being made from hip joint. This is realistic sequence of the legs’ joint.
Steps:
Press space bar and then put the cursor in the side view and press enter to enter the side view.
Then in the side tool bar click on the joint tool as soon as you will start making joints of the leg you will see that at hip joint position pelvis joint chain will appear, as you have to start from separate joint of hip then you have to hide the pelvis joints chain first, simply select the joints’ chain and the press ctrl + H to hide the selection.
Now you click on the hip joint place with joint tool to create hip joint and then click on the knee joint location then ankle and toe and foot finger joint. Now press space bar to come to perspective view port.
Now press ‘w’ for move tool and then move the joint chain to its proper place for resizing joints, go to the Modify menus and then in the Animation click on the joint size and then decrease the joint size.
Afterwards open the outliner and then rename the joints as they are.
