subdivision object in mayaThis is Subdivision basic 3d modeling lesson in 3d modeling and animation software Autodesk Maya. In this 3d modeling lesson you will learn how to model 3d object in 3d modeling and animation software Autodesk Maya. In this lesson you will also get some idea that what types of the 3d model can be made with Subdivision 3d modeling in 3d modeling and animation software Autodesk Maya.
Subdivision 3d modeling is a method of 3d modeling of object using NURBS and polygon 3d modeling techniques at the same time. Here in this lesson we have basic cube 3d model which is subdivision cube then you will see how the subdivision 3d models the cube when we are working in Polygon mode of the subdivision 3d modeling in 3d animation modeling software Autodesk Maya. There are two ways you can choose for 3d modeling in Subdivision 3d modeling one is polygon proxy mode and other is NURBS style 3d modeling mode which is default subdivision 3d modeling mode in 3d modeling and animation software Autodesk Maya.
Steps:
First of all go to create menu and in the Subdivision primitives click on the sphere, hit ‘5’ for shaded mode.
You will see that your sphere is cubical so make it smooth press 2 key and for more smoothness press ‘3’ key from keyboard.
Then right click on the sphere and go to Polygon proxy mode, now you will see a polygonal shape surface model around the sphere modeling this polygonal surface object you can model the sphere.
And moreover in polygon proxy model you can use the polygon tools and commands for Subdivision 3d model.
