Normal Mapping in Maya

normal mapLearn here in this tutorial of Maya modeling about normal mapping along with ZBrush. The model in video tutorial is created with polygonal primitive so in this way you can say such model as polygonal modeling. After this we drag it ahead to know some more detail about model, we have a pre-made model in our scene and take a test render and see the result with normal mapping application. You see that model is looking realistic and perfect with high resolution. It is because we can study the detail of that model easily. This is complex normal mapping modeling therefore we use simple technique to teach you such concept. We are going to create coin with carved image on it. Go to polygonal primitive and choose polygonal cylinder or you can choose it from shelf menu. Bring it into shaded mode and add some extrude geometry to apply stuff for coin. Take a test render at this stage and see whether correct mapping are being created. Save this map in Maya and close the program, now open Zbrush which also provides same user interface like Maya. Choose sphere and apply face image onto it and adjust its setting as edge loop setting. Now apply this sketched image over pre-made mapping in Maya. Render the model finally you will get the required result as in given video.
