The screen is to be found atop a substrate such as document or fabric. Ink is placed on top of the screen, plus a fill bar (also known as a flood bar) is used to fill the mesh openings by means of ink. The operator begins with the fill bar at the rear of the screen and behind a reservoir of ink. The operator lifts the screen to prevent contact with the substrate in addition to then using a slight amount of downward force pulls the fill bar to the front of the screen. This effectively fills the mesh openings with ink with moves the ink reservoir to the front of the screen.
The operator then uses a squeegee (rubber blade) to go the mesh down to the substrate and pushes the squeegee to the rear of the screen. The ink so as to is in the mesh opening is pumped or squeezed by capillary action to the substrate in a controlled and prescribed amount, i.e. the wet ink deposit is proportional to the thickness of the mesh plus or stencil. As the squeegee moves toward the rear of the screen the tension of the mesh pulls the mesh up away from the substrate (called snap-off) leaving the ink winning the substrate surface.
This video is taken from the home industry of the Screen Printing and you will learn in this tutorial video that how to fix a screen. It is very necessary job to do before starting printing with Screen. You need clumps for this operation. Remember one thing that the screen should be atop the substrate which has to be screen printed it may be a fabric or a paper and its front side (front side of screen) should be downwards on the substrate. Then after fixing the screen pour the ink on the screen using flood bar and apply some force on with a fill bar in order to force the ink downwards on the substrate.
The actual process by which the ink moves down to the substrate is the capillary action of the ink and the small holes so the rate of operation depends on the openings of the mesh and the design. The screen is kept slightly above the substrate in order to maintain the force of suction due to capillary action. There are many helping techniques of this method to learn about those techniques watch free tutorial video lesson available on our website. Whereas in this video tutorial you will learn how to make the last preparation for starting the Screen printing.
