Key Frame Animation
The first and most important way of making animations within maya is key frame animation. Although the keyframe animation within Maya is initial way of animation but it goes throughout the 3D Animation course. Key framing is the best way to animate some object manually. It means that you will capture still images on specific frames.
Maya provides you keyable (key able) attributes for capturing your still images at different frames. You key or you set the key on those attributes. Attributes control the objects. Such as the value of scale on xyz axis is an attribute of an object. As well as the value of translation or movement on xyz axis is attribute of the object.
Same like that the value of rotation means the degree of angles on what you rotate your object, and the value like 30 degree or 45, or 90 degree rotates your object on specific angle such x or y or z. so when you give the value to your object’s attributes at some specific frame, you can set a key on it. The image of your scene will be captured at that specific frame and if you set many keys on different frames and on different values. It means you make an animation. .
