In this 3d modeling free tutorial video lesson you will learn how to assign material and texture to your 3d cartoon rocket model in 3d modeling and animation software application Autodesk Maya. This is very interesting tutorial about 3d modeling and animation program Autodesk Maya learning for the beginners who will learn ho w to paint 3d models in Autodesk Maya using paint option of the 3d software Autodesk Maya. Maya paint option are very interesting and complete feature of Autodesk Maya having all types of painting tools and commands in it. You can also texture your 3d rocket model importing some kind of texture but her in this lesson you will learn how to texture your 3d model using Maya’s own tool and painting options. This lesson comprises of two 3d modeling part about how to texture and color 3d character called as character rigging in 3d terms in this first part of 3d character rigging lesson you will learn how to paint main body of rocket using paint brush of Maya.

    Steps:

  1. Select the main body of the rocket 3d model, change the menu set to ‘Rendering’ and go to Paint Effects option in the main drop down menu and click on the ‘Make Paintable.’
  2. Now go to ‘Texturing’ and select ‘3d Paint tool’ you have to set the options of the paint tool, tool setting option box button is present between the attribute editor button channel box button at the extreme right in the status line. Now you select option of the paint tool option box,
  3. Now scroll down to Assign/Edit Texture, and click on it and then again in the option box which opens up click on the Assign/Edit Texture.
  4. Then select two brushes tool called wiser brush too and then an option box will open up, it contains the painting textures for brushing that are created by the experts of Maya, choose electric and then select any of the electric texture you like for painting, or you can select any other.
  5. Now paint you 3d rocket’s main body with this brush tool.
