Arabic calligraphy is originated from the advent of Islam. It was introduced to create a sense of awareness among the Muslims for Islam. Arabic calligraphy reflects Islamic tradition.

It was also used in the decoration of the wall of the mosque that is called Arabesque. Although in the earlier days, it was a controversial matter to write Arabic calligraphy. Because it was said that It is not happy connection to write Islamic verses in different style and shape. But now-a- day it is very popular to express Islamic feeling and expression. There are 28 letter in the Arabic Alphabet and is written from left to right.

Arabic calligraphy is of two kinds, Moist and Dry. Kufy style is example of moist and Naskh is based on dry style. Kufy was used before the advent of Islam by the priest while the Naskh is known as best script for writing Islamic script and Holy verses. Because it has ability to joining a curve. So it inspires the calligrapher to write Islamic art in different shape and style. Specific Pen (Qalam) and Inkpot (D’wat) was used in writing Arabic calligraphy. China introduced the paper for writing. We can say that Paper is Chinese calligraphy symbol in calligraphy art. It play vital role in the art of calligraphy. Sometime the calligrapher also use calligraphy stencil for some typical art. Arabic calligraphy style has played predominant role in the development of Arabic languages.
